Levi Banks | Jumpflex Athlete

Levi Banks aged 12 years old is a BMX rider based out of Hamilton. He has been riding BMX competitively for 7 years, he is a kid that is determined to get to the top and is prepared to put in the hard yards to get there.

It all began when Levi was 4 years old and living next to the Hamilton BMX Track. Any chance he got he would head to the track on his strider bike with his parents, it was during this time they realised his love of riding. This progressed into him competing at the age of 5 and he hasn’t looked back.

Levi has endured the highs and lows of BMX racing, having to come back from injury and build momentum up again. This has only made him more determined than ever to come back fighting. It is that grit that saw Levi reach his goal of making it in the NZ top 3 and his first Podium position.

2021 has been Levi’s most successful year as he trialled for the NZ Mighty 11 Test Team, came home in 1st place & was made Captain of the team. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 he was unable to travel to Australia to represent NZ. However he was pretty stoked to get his name engraved on the trophy with all the other amazing athletes.

Levi has shown interest in BMX Freestyle over the past few years; riding skateparks, dirt jumps & airbags which he gets a lot of enjoyment from. He has been fortunate enough to ride amongst some of the best in NZ, including the inspiring Jed Mildon. He had the opportunity to ride at the Franklin Farm where he got to hit the 40ft roll in which was a huge buzz & the biggest he had ever sent before.
